    >During a Wednesday-morning appearance on CNBC, Kevin Hassett, the director of the White House National Economic Council, not only disagreed with the extensive research, he also suggested that the Federal Reserve punish the researchers who worked with Columbia on a study the president didn’t like.

    >“The people associated with this paper should presumably be disciplined,” he said.

I’m so over this shit. The only campaign promise I want to hear this fall (assuming we’ll still have elections) is that these fucking fascists will be held accountable for their crimes against democracy.

    Fascists hate the truth.

„*The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.*“

  3. We’re at the „punishment for telling the truth“ stage of the fall of democracy, I see.

  4. Are they also going to threaten the Cato Institute….empirical data and facts are the enemy of this administration…..they all must go

  5. Donald Trump is a child rapist and murderer. He is evil incarnate. His cabinet is made from pedophiles and killers. This entire administration needs Nuremberg style trials.

    Honest question:

Who is this working for? What bloc of the voting public is sitting back and saying „this is great!“

I just do not understand how people can sit back and say that this daily cascade of nonsense and shit, neverending mess of chaos is better than anything we have had prior to Trump and the MAGA movement.

I get that there is a large swath of the MAGA followers who will shit their pants if a liberal has to sit next to them and smell it, but even they have to be looking at the world around them and saying „hmm… I hate Dems, but all things considered, this shit kinda stinks“.

So barring the flat out culture war aspect of it all, who beyond the Uber wealthy are feeling like this is all heading in the right direction? Do they think the winning is just always right around the corner?

How about punishments for the people who raped children? How about that fucking justice?!

    Tell the truth: get punished.

    Withhold the truth: get praised.

    Where is the revolution?

The only way to hold anyone accountable is to have democrat majority in house and Senate. Anything else is a rubber stamp to keep doing this shit.

Some economist is about to CASH IN with a totally bs paper refuting it.

  11. When all is said and done, the money paid in lawsuits needs to come specifically from the individuals in the administration and congress who support this crap

  12. If they do, it’ll shine a brighter light on the economic data. It’ll backfire just like the Talarico – Colbert interview. Go for it!

Obviously don’t think Hessett should be calling for some vague “discipline” in this environment I want to get that clear.

However if you do read the report, is very simplistic and only focuses on economic burden of who pays tariffs, which isn’t really the intent of tariffs nor is really a debate for anyone that knows just a bit about how tariffs work (I know what Trump says, but he often lies).

Nothing about effects on inflation, GDP, job growth/decline, wages etc which are the important ramifications of tariffs.

  15. We’re not arresting the ring of pedophile sex traffickers, no no. We’re punishing people for accurately reporting the effects of the tariffs. That’s where WE are.
