This is basically a map to show that a lot of Americans will put up with a lot of absurd shit for a cheap tract home.
I’m so happy to see Idaho and Texas getting what they deserve: all of the shitty Californians. The rest of us Californians thank you for your service.
Its also an aging population wanting to move to lower income tax areas for their retirement. I.e. i got mine, so peace out
So uh, what do we do when we hit a literal physical population limit for the planet?
That’s always what I’ve wondered with the constant growth stuff. It’s not sustainable indefinitely, and I don’t know if anybody knows wtf to do when that finally hits.
Downvote all you want, it doesn’t change the fact that we’re essentially in a closed system when it comes to most of our resources.
I’d like to see the same map but with the actual number of people +/- listed below the percentage change . I have a feeling that idaho’s 10% wouldn’t look as impressive as texas and their 8.8.
West Virginia doesn’t have much of a future. The job market and infrastructure is terrible overall and relies way too much on declining industries such as mining. To add on top of that, there are several major cities in other neighboring states that aren’t incredibly far away which causes people to simply move altogether. It’s really sad, especially because it has unique history. I envision that the national park and state parks will expand in size as nature takes more of West Virgina back as it has been already.
So only the poorest (MS, LA, WV) and most expensive states (CA, HI, IL, NY) lost people.
Soon you all will be Florida man! Muahaha!

Curious how much of West Virginia is people leaving the state, how much is older folks dying, and how much is opioids/drugs.
Illinois, Illinois. Going to get even bigger. Property taxes are eating up everyone’s take home pay, sales taxes, more and more taxes and more and more spending is the Illinois way. Makes NYC 10% property tax increase seem mild in comparison.
