„Punkt.“

    Snippet:

    >*Less than a decade ago, US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. helped win a landmark $289 million verdict against Monsanto, which was found to have distributed a weedkiller containing the carcinogenic chemical glyphosate.*

    >But on Wednesday the nation’s top health official could only shrug after President Donald Trump issued an executive order mandating the production of the chemical, which was found by the World Health Organization in 2015 to cause cancer.

    >Trump invoked the Defense Production Act, which has historically been used to spur production of supplies needed for national security, to guarantee the supply of herbicides containing glyphosate, claiming a lack of such weedkillers would “critically jeopardize agricultural productivity, adding pressure to the domestic food system.”

    >*Kennedy, who like Trump promised on the campaign trail to confront dangerous pesticides and chemicals, said in a statement that the executive order* ***“puts America first where it matters most—our defense readiness and our food supply.”*** *He also hinted during his confirmation hearing last year that the administration would treat glyphosate as a critical supply for farmers.*

    * Ken Cook, president and co-founder of the Environmental Working Group, which supported some aspects of Kennedy’s “Make America Healthy Again” agenda, said he couldn’t “envision a bigger middle finger to every MAHA mom than this.”
    * “If anyone still wondered whether ‘Make America Healthy Again’ was a genuine commitment to protecting public health **or a scam concocted by President Trump and RFK Jr. to rally health-conscious voters in 2024**, today’s decision answers that question,” said Cook. “It’s a shocking betrayal to all of us but especially the people who live and work near farm fields where glyphosate is used.”

  2. In health and overall science in general. Whatever the right or best move would be..

You can in this area fully expect this admin to do the absolute wrong thing.

Ive worked at Monsanto before (I was fresh out of college I needed experience) for a few years so… yeah.

MAHA thinks seed oils and petroleum-based dyes are bad for you. They also want to allow glyphosate. Extremely inconsistent, but hey, when your health policy is based on what the HHS secretary sees on TikTok, nothing makes sense anymore.

If exposed to RoundUp, according to the CDC, all negative effects are mitigated if you immediately put on Bawitdaba by Kid Rock, chug a half-gallon of whole raw milk, and begin a workout in jeans. We’re in nonsense territory where no aspect of the federal government gives a crap about human health. Act accordingly.

What on earth gave him the idea to order the production of that? Or rather who?

My aunt got lymphoma from that poison. It’s nasty. Thank God, she beat it.

Wow, I’m feeling healthier by the day. Can’t wait for them to finally put tide pods in the snack aisle so I can be super healthy

  8. Well that is certainly a way to take down everyone, even those who refuse to join your cult.

  9. Well consider that lymphoma is hard to detect and killed my father, I’d say fucking great…

Funny just a few days ago I saw that they agreed to a 7 billion settlement for round up lol

  11. This is going to get buried, but glyphosate present on foods is considered by the EPA to be safe. However, there are studies of occupational exposures (spraying the chemical without proper PPE) increasing cancer risk. The dose makes the poison.

Before the election, several people told me that they didn’t like Trump, but they were voting for him because of RFK Jr who was finally going to make us healthy and ban harmful stuff from food. I asked them to explain how they thought that the party who hates regulations and makes it a platform to remove them was going to let RFK Jr ban any substance from food or elsewhere. No answer of course except to „trust him“. I hope they’re reading that post.

I do like the idea of wealthy republicans using this on their perfect lawns, and their children developing cancer in their teens,

What a chefs kiss thought that is

When people called Maga a „death cult“ what did you think they meant?

Back about 1990, Roundup salesman demonstrated how safe it was by drinking it during his pitch…. I wonder haw bad he regretted that. My boss flipped (rightfully so) and kicked his ass out to the street.

And if the usa had any sort of consumer conscious or idea of responsibility they simply wouldn’t buy the product/contract workers who do

Can someone please explain how the president can mandate the production of a toxic substance? He is literally trying to kill his own people now. I am genuinely baffled by America.

Glyphosate used in agriculture gets into every single food item that we put in our mouths, period. It’s in produce, grains, processed foods, animal feed, literally everything is poisoned. And make no mistake, other countries will buy less of our crap which will basically put the final nail in the coffins of US farmers that are barely hanging on as it is. This is stupidity and evil at a level that I’m not sure I could have imagined.

Having to pay over 5 BILLION in lawsuits kinda says the stuff is not good for anyone. But, money.

  20. This makes perfect sense. Who are the people largely working in agriculture? Undocumented immigrants.

  21. I think the last thing I’d want is to be the responsible person for someone getting cancer because I demanded a poison be produced.

You know what they say about those with ’nothing left to live for.‘

  22. MAHA – by eliminating mercury controls for coal fired power plants, cutting federal funds for lead water line replacement, spreading anti-vax propaganda … what could go wrong?
