Look.. yes. He may be the guy in public-facing control of some of these things, but he ultimately answers to someone, and is using someone’s or some group’s vision as a blueprint for what he’s building. All the people you see in public view – like him, Musk, Gates, etc – they all answer to someone else. They’re not the top of the hierarchy. Focusing on Thiel as THE architect is not the play. He’s both a a puppet and puppeteer, and I wish we would have more meaningful dialogue about who is controlling him, and for what ends. Because just as many fear him and don’t want to get on his bad side, he likewise fears the wrath of whatever power he is a willing representative of.

I read a book about 15 years ago, it was co-written by Eisenhower’s son, it was called The Great Deceit and it was full of information about things like this, how bankers cause housing bubbles and then crash the market so that they can buy up the foreclosed/abandoned properties for pennies while also bankrupting citizens, this book was from the 1960s.
