Lol canadians need not apply.  Gotta keep those immigration numbers going up to get us to that century initiative goal…

      >The new categories for Express Entry are giving priority to workers who classify as: researchers and senior managers, pilots, aircraft mechanics and inspectors as well as skilled military recruits.

Seems fairly reasonable. This is what we should be using immigration for. Bringing in highly skilled workers in fields where we have a shortage. Not tim hortons workers. The „managers“ part seems a little sketchy but they wouldnt be the liberals unless they included something a little off.

      TLDR

    4. Yes, yes, yes. Let’s take advantage of these experts. We need more doctors here in Canada.

“Diab explained that in order for skilled military recruits to qualify for the Express Entry program they need to have a job offer from the Canadian Armed Forces.”

Please don’t turn our military into Tim Hortons. Maybe during the next joint NATO exercise, our crew will be on coffee duty.

    6. Yes let’s get skilled workers for a non-existent job market, lol. EVERY single field in Canada saturated. I can’t think of one that isn’t.

What Canada needs is entrepreneurs. Folks that will come here and start BUSINESSES……

If there is a shortage of workers for a skilled trade, the government should be offering to cover the full tuition for local students before bringing anyone else from the outside in.

I called this months ago. The liberals are going LMIA-ify our defense industry.

    9. I’m fine with skilled workers those bring valuable skills to Canada, TFW/Student programs needs to end. Which Carny at least gutted the TFW and Foreign students programs.

What is the buying power the compensation of these positions entail?

We focus so much on wage without acknowledging the reality that a $70K/year job doesn’t get you shit anymore.

    11. Why are we importing pilots???? As a pilot (fresh CPL) I know lots of people personally looking to get their first job. Now on top of all the other fresh CPL holders they are competing with foreign ones as well that will make pennies on the dollar and race to the bottom? This government never fails to appease their coperate overlords

IF you thinks liberal majority will be good for this country you’ll sadly be mistaken

Express entry into military positions seems like a bad idea. I’d feel much more comfortable if military positions were exclusively held by Canadian citizens and Canadian PRs. Having foreigners in the military seems like a security risk.

    14. Very often it looks like this: one has to be a skilled worker with lots of qualification and credentials in their country to be accepted for immigration. Canada will give them Permanent Residency. But their qualification likely ain’t mean shit in Canada (unless it’s IT) and they will have to work for the next 5 years scrubbing toilets and delivering pizza until they get local certification.
Knew a practicing eye surgeon and a professor of ophthalmology in a medical university, with decades of experience in both, who had to take local course to become an optician in Walmart.

Let’s hope we bring in millions of lawyers , doctors and politicians and then we can call them racist when their income drops to minimum wage.

    16. Is this feasible? Shouldn’t we first reduce the time it takes to enlist in the military?

    17. I know a couple

They are both PhD researchers who got in on express entry

One works at home Depot in sales, the other works at Amazon warehouse

    18. Trudeau has more than crippled our health care system and housing crisis with a 4 year tidal wave of immigrants. Give Canadian students a break to further their education for these jobs, we don’t need more immigrants we need better treatment of our own citizens.

    19. Lightingway on

Is it safe for use to fast-track immigrants into the military? The military seems like something only citizens should be able to join. What happens if other countries use it to spy?

Fuck this shit I am so tired of government just not giving a damn about anyone but themselves. Pigs at the trough.

    21. No thanks. Weve seen how the „doctors and engineers“ arent fitting in currently.

    22. Oh…great. Cant wait for a liberal majority 🙄….then we can just go hard on all the terrible costly life sucking policy’s.

    23. abc123DohRayMe on

Lets focus on training our own people. Make tuition more affordable in areas that we need people and open more spaces. More spaces for doctors and less for English majors. Instead spend the money we spend on immigrants on helping our own people get ahead.

_but guys carney is actually a conservative i promise and definitely **totally** different from Trudeau_

    25. I know several skilled people that can’t find work.

We have the highest unemployment rate in the G7

      What are we doing.

    26. They sandbag the aircraft mechanics with back to work legislation and now outsource their jobs 😂 ouch!
