For those asking “Why are there graves of Canadian Soliders in Gaza?”
These are the graves of Canadian UN peacekeepers who lost their lives during the 1950s-60s deployed in Gaza & Egypt, such as the grave shown in the image of Corporal Gerald Stanley Porter, who died in 1959.
„An IDF officer who spoke to CBC News on background and who was involved in combat operations in the area said he was not able to give any assurance that Israeli forces had taken measures to preserve human remains.“
Without evidence, there is no reason to take Israel at their word that there were tunnels under the cemetery. And a tunnel does not constitute a justification to not preserve the remains of those buried there.
„A Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) spokesperson said it currently has no way to access the Gaza cemeteries, which are under Israeli military control, and has limited information about the condition of the graves.“
And of course without third-party access to these gravesites, we won’t fully know the extent of the truth from Israel’s claims.

This is noise that doesn’t convey any information, a reflexive response that should be regarded as pure static.
It’s a topic that the IDF has routinely made false statements about in the past, without any evidence of genuine confusion or regret. It’s just not intellectually sensible to give this statement any weight at all, you shouldn’t listen to an information source on a topic where they have demonstrated no concern about the truth.
