Ukrainische Beamte wollen die Paralympics boykottieren.
Während weiterhin Athleten aus dem Land antreten werden, werden Offizielle nicht an der Veranstaltung teilnehmen, die nächsten Monat stattfinden soll, als Reaktion auf russische und weißrussische Athleten, denen es gestattet wurde, unter ihrer eigenen Flagge anzutreten.
Die Nationen werden insgesamt 10 Athleten bei der Veranstaltung haben.
Dies geschieht im Anschluss an die Entscheidung des Internationalen Paralympischen Komitees (IPC), den Athleten zu erlauben, unter ihrer eigenen Flagge anzutreten.
Der ukrainische Sportminister Matviy Bidnyi sagte, kein ukrainischer Offizieller werde an der Eröffnungszeremonie oder einer anderen Veranstaltung der Spiele teilnehmen.
Bidnyi sagte: "Als Reaktion auf die empörende Entscheidung, Russen und Weißrussen unter ihren Nationalflaggen antreten zu lassen, werden ukrainische Beamte nicht an den Paralympischen Spielen teilnehmen.
"Wir werden bei der Eröffnungsfeier nicht anwesend sein. Wir werden an keinen anderen offiziellen paralympischen Veranstaltungen teilnehmen.
"Wir danken jedem Beamten aus der freien Welt, der dasselbe tun wird.
"Wir werden weiter kämpfen!"

More European countries should follow. I wonder what will happen long-term with international sports though, all those organisations are at this point corrupt beyond repair.
Would have guessed that IOC being one of the most corrupt organizations on earth could be so easily bought off? lol
Is the IPC separate from the IOC? It seems off that the former can get away with this. Whatever the case, I too would boycott those spineless bastards.

I would say that has to be done wuth ALL the athletes (non Paralympic too) immediately after the helmet issue.

Im not defending anyone, but arent olympics specificaly not about politics? We should have problems with russian athletes doping not that they are from said country because war. It does kinda suc that we have this war happening, but olympics are about sports first, politics last
