I saw him talking about being against what’s happening in Gaza. Not taking AIPAC money. And he’s a threat to Trumpto. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets ‘suicided’ before the coming election.

If the goal was to make him irrelevant, that backfired spectacularly. Nothing boosts a candidate faster than “they don’t want you to see this.

This is just further proof that speaking out matters. Silence is a fascist best weapon. No kings, Colbert, and all the other people who are making noise are why they’ll fail, if they fail. The majority of Americans don’t share their vision, but as long as we feel isolated nothing will change, so be vocal. Call out the BS when you hear it and let people know they’re not alone.

Controversy grabs attention. It was a good move. In other news, and to the surprise of absolutely no one, comedians are better at political chess then the current admin and their puppets.

If CBS really was worried about clashing with „fairness“ policies, then they would’ve allowed this and made Colbert also interview a Republican candidate. The fact they wanted to just bury it instead tells you what their actual agenda is

James is one of those rare Christians that scare the GOP/Christian nationalists.

I’m a rural Texan. I really like Talarico, and I also really like Crockett. I’ll happily vote for either.

But that election in Fort Worth where they had a 30 point swing tells me that they could actually win!

That’s right I think they just crowned him the new Senator in the state of Texas

  10. Ironically, CBS’s attempts to censure the man had the opposite effect. CBS is on quite a streak

  11. This feels like the Streisand effect in real time. Trying to block an interview just turned it into free national exposure.

Put your money on Talrico, or vote for him in the primaries if your Texan. The GOP is terrified of running against this guy and they are trying to boost Crockett.

I live in a rural part of Texas and it’s a shame he doesn’t run ads in this region. If folks could hear his platform they’d likely vote for him. He’s definitely a rising star in the party.

What I find really interesting is how much airtime he spent talking about Christianity – specifically Liberation Theology which is a school of Christian thought which emphasizes social justice as a command from Jesus.

Conservatives *hate* Liberation Theology. Hate hate hate it.

I had no idea who this person was until the nonsense with the FCC and the Trump admin trying to squash this interview. Today I donated to his campaign!

Got to love unintended consequences when they land on those who created them with a big, fat, thud! Massive miscalculation on CBS’ part.

This is either a complete backfire or malicious compliance at it’s finest

    From the article:

    > **Both Crockett and Talarico are Black.**

    Excuse me?

I love the law of unintended consequences. Oligarchs and scumbag overlords wanted to silence him for speaking rationally and factually and it backfired spectacularly.

Thank you FCC chairman Brendan Carr, I was honestly worried that Crockett was a shoe-in and she was going to get her fucking ass handed to her in the general and I’d be forced to live with 6 years of wonky-eyed Ken Paxton. But this late in the game turn of events has given Talerico the edge. Clearly Republicans are afraid that he has a shot and I hope Texas voters will take that into account when going to The ballot box.

  21. If more Christians were like Talarico, I’d probably still be Christian.

I think we’re due for a big religious realignment in the US—a push toward teaching and practicing the things Jesus ACTUALLY taught and did—and Talarico is the most interesting figure I’ve seen so far.
