Sorry, what are the colors supposed to mean? That they represent together/separately?

  2. What I’ve heard, some Irish national sports clubs are older than the Irish spilt and therefore, well, never split up

Olympics is incorrect, it should be both orange and red for northern Ireland as they have the choice to represent team GB or Ireland.

Edit: NI born footballers can also represent Ireland.

  4. For some reason cricket’s way of doing it has always instinctively made most sense to me.

There is no such place as “northern ireland”. It’s the north of Ireland.

Rugby could also be different as the British and Irish lions play as a whole. But for other normal internationals they play separately. Also Welsh teams play in the English football league to make it even more confusing lmao.

Whatever the configuration, you won’t find any Scots cheering for the English

Thank you for referring to them as the “British and Irish isles”

I’m not Irish and have no authority on the matter, but it would be cool to see an all-Irish national team in football too

  10. The Ireland and Nothern Ireland being together for some sports is so wholesome to me

Labelling what each territory is named would have been helpful . . .
