Anyone voting for this is enabling a nationwide poll tax in violation of the Constitution. They are also enabling mass voter suppression in a blatant attempt to remain in power.

If you want to require a photo ID to vote, then you better make it free and easy to obtain. It also must be obtainable without having to purchase other documents.

  2. I love they keep taunting that 83% of american support ID laws to justify their horrible bill.

They can never say 83% of americans support the save act bill

I sure would hate to be the stupid asshole that pisses off nearly 50 million women. I can barely survive pissing my wife off.

And just now the Trump regime took away the ability to get a passport through your non-profit public library.

I’d like to know whose ass they pulled the 83% want this fro9m. Just more gaslighting

Unsurprisingly Susan Collins is the deciding vote and contributed to back trump no matter what.

You all up in Maine need to go out and vote, and if your preferred Democrat candidate does not win the primary you need to still go out and vote in the fall. Her seat is one of the most at risk, if Democrats can get the majority in both chambers of Congress that gives them power and leverage.

  7. > She [Susan Collins] said the revisions to the bill resolve her earlier concerns by easing the proof-of-citizenship rule for casting a ballot, instead requiring states to see it only when registering a person to vote.

And what about when they decide to ‚OOPS! accidentally‘ remove all women, independents and democrats right before an election when it would be impossible to jump through the hoops necessary to reregister?

Unless Republicans flip 10 Democrats (they won’t) or get rid of the filibuster (highly unlikely), this won’t pass… and if somehow it gets passed, it will get bogged down in the courts. The Constitution literally says that states are responsible for administering elections…

Susan Collins last “fuck you” to democracy and women voters. Cannot wait until the people of Maine vote this feckless bootlicker out on her ass.

  10. I’m down to support voter ID as soon as republicans show us the instances of voter fraud warrant making it harder for millions to vote.

What’s the latest on Thune and the filibuster? He’s still at a ‘no’ on nuking it?
(Yes I know how little a republican’s word means but still curious)

  12. Trump: „In four years, You don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good. You’re not going to have to vote.“

  13. The State Department also made it so that certain libraries can no longer process passports. So, at the same time that they are requiring most people to have a passport or bring their birth certificates, they’re making one of the two options less accessible.

Republicans only spend time destroying things instead of improving or compromising to work toward the greater good. It’s fucking exhausting and embarrassing.

The State Dept. recently ordered nonprofit libraries to stop processing passport applications. They will do anything they can to stop people from voting. I keep wondering what obstacles they will have at voting sites on election day or how they may tamper with the machines.

Literally just walk into a voting hall in Australia and they get the little ruler out and cross your name off a paper list. This is with compulsory voting! I feel like the Republicans overestimate how many people want to stand in lines all day just to cast an extra couple of votes.

Maybe the Americans that want Trump out should start voting this time
