A slug embodies the country’s values better than Donald Trump. It’s not a high bar.

The fact racism is so accepted now that a competing network can run a, quote, „All-American“ show, just shows the pure disrespect this country has for those born in our neighboring Territory.

The women and minorities that attend Orange Hitlers rallies and clap and smile approvingly……

I don’t get it….I just don’t get it. That dictator fucker HATES us all.

    Sad America. Very Sad.

  3. I would prefer to live in a place where neither a narcissist nor a celebrity embodies the country’s values.

  4. I still can’t get over that was a real wedding. That smile on their faces was so real, nothing could make me happier seeing that.

What this country use to stand for. What we have now is nothing like the country I grew up in.

  6. Seeing how many people still back and defend Trump, I’d say he does represent some of the country’s values.

Well yeah…. Most of us haven’t had everything handed to us repeatedly even after failing miserably at everything.

I’ve seen poorly behaved children that embody US values better than he does.

A morning bowel movement has better values than Trump. Same basic shape and smell too.

    To quote another Reddit user:

Bad Bunny’s show was essentially a “conservative’s” traditional values wet dream. He mentioned God, had a hetero wedding, passed on his accolades to a child, celebrated his heritage and the community that raised him. Then shouted out our nation as well as the nations who exist near us. Finally promoted love over hate. Just like Jesus.

And yet, by vote or abstention, 165 millions Americans were fine with Trump as president. 2/3 of the voters either woke that day saying „Fuck yeah, let’s do it !“ or „I’ve got better things to do.“, THIS is America.

IMHO one of the most unAmerican things about Trump is that he thinks that the key to immortality in America is putting his name on shit rather than improving the quality of people’s lives.

Nobody gives a shit who James Garfield was, in fact a lot of people would think he was maybe a cartoon cat, but the sentiment of separating patronage from politics, a thing he stood for (really generally speaking) is aspirational for everybody.

  13. The beauty of the halftime show was that it was written to display core American values, same values as republicans like to claim as theirs. It focused on family, community, patriotism and love . And they did it so well that you didn’t even have to understand the words to understand the message.

  14. Sorry America, Trump absolutely embodies your most prevalent values

Individualism, self-promotion and personal branding, celebrity culture and spectacle, anti-establishment distrust of institutions, transactional deal-making over long-term cooperation, nationalism, polarisation, short-term pragmatism over collective consensus.

Truly, no celebrity – MAGA or liberal – embodies America. I don’t think either really know what real day-to-day life is like for the vast majority of Americans.

I understand the symbolism comparison, but so many people care way too much about one person, and it’s really hurting us. I can’t stand people who have to know what their favorite celebrity/podcaster/sports personality thinks to know how they should think. It’s time to move on from individualism to collectivism.

He would make a better president too.

I know, very low bar. The lowest. But still.
