It is sad that they let people abuse the Asylum system, it is such a good program for people who legitimately need it…
People are going to get mad at the scamming and abuse and innocents will end up being the ones who suffer.
I hope they are also investigating how these applications were passed in the first place, which department leads/ministers are responsible for pushing numbers over quality review of applicants, and if any AI programs are an issue- if they are stopping the use until they are fixed.
Absolutely inexcusable. If they can fast track a GST bill in parliament, politicians shouldn’t be allowed to leave Ottawa or go on vacation until the new immigration bill is hashed out and passed.
Will the hundreds then claim refugee status to try to bypass and delay legal action ?

Are there other countries other than India that have so many cases of immigrants committing crime in Canada. All you hear about is extortion, cross border drug running, shootings, immigration scams the list goes on.
