    1. From the article:

Trump’s economic plan which involves sweeping tariffs has caused disruptions domestically and internationally. World leaders are now seeking a way through the economic spiral, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is believed to be at the helm of this plan. Insiders, speaking to [Politico](https://www.politico.eu/article/eu-and-indo-pacific-blocs-eye-major-new-trade-pact/), confirmed there are nearly 40 countries interested in the talks.

A Canadian government official said, “The work is definitely coming along. We’ve had very fruitful discussions on it with other partners around the world.”

Both the European Union and members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, including Canada, Mexico, and Australia, are keen to stand against Trump’s economic policies and their effects on the wider world.

A Japanese trade official said, „We see a lot of value in increasing trade among the EU and CPTPP parties, which would also contribute to enhancing supply chain resilience.“

Klemens Kober, director of trade policy, EU customs and transatlantic relations at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also confirmed that relevant parties were looking into an agreement, which if signed, could hinder Trump and his administration’s hold on world economics.

    2. This was my main reaction to their plan in the first place, sure this might work if everyone just does nothing. The other players are smart and are going to do their own thing.

Glad I’m from a country represented by men who touch curling rocks instead of children.

You can’t rebel against someone who has no authority over you. It’s more like a world trade war

Carney has actual real world experience working in financial global markets. Like actually working in a top leading role for a national bank and knows how to produce results.

pretty light on details, but it’s nice to see something in the works. interesting they are talking about it publicly.

    8. Americans – what did you think was going to happen? This was extremely avoidable, and now it isn’t.

I don’t like the word „rebellion“. Trump has betrayed our allies and is siding with pieces of trash like Putin. Thus, our allies should NOT trust us.
