      The republic is now governed less by policy than by applause. Around the throne of grievance kneel men and women who mistake obedience for loyalty and flattery for courage, repeating obvious falsehoods with the solemnity once reserved for law.

      They denounce corruption while queuing for it, preach strength while hiding behind bluster, and speak endlessly of “the people” while governing as if the nation were a private club with a dress code of submission. What was once a government now resembles a loyalty test, and what was once leadership has curdled into a daily audition for favor, where truth is optional and sycophancy the only surviving virtue.

      The true saving grace of trump is that he has no patience, no sense of history, and no sense of the value of the hard work it would have taken him to pass a few laws instead of showing off his Exec Orders for the TV cameras like a Fourth Grader showing off his art. We could be in a lot worse shape, with a more competent and capable POS than trump . . . than again, we’d be in a whole lot better shape if the MAGA Cultists weren’t who they are.

      He’s definitely building a legacy, just not the one he thinks he’s building.

      All these buildings he’s renaming and everything are going to serve as wonderful visual aids for generations to come, as we teach them about one of the biggest mistakes we’ve ever made, and the importance of voting and taking your vote seriously.

      He already locked up the title of Worst President ever before he even started his second term. Now he’s just put it out of reach for anyone else in the future.

      I was reflecting the other day that Watergate wouldn’t even be a drop in the bucket if it happened under this administration. For real, if it came out tomorrow that the Trump administration had done everything that got Nixon in trouble- 100%, with proof, that they did all the same things/ the press secretary would just insult the media, tell the public to get over it, and it would be completely out of the news cycle in a week or less. It would honestly come across as petty compared to the other stuff they’re doing.

      Trump legacy is that nothing he has done will be remembered as good or valuable to our community. He will be a lesson and goalpost to avoid.

      What makes him stand out is that he has brought down every other branch of government with him. Supreme Court, congress, all have become useless sycophants tearing down everything we believed in

      Yeah. I’ve argued with a lot of people about this over the years saying he’s not as bad as this one or that. No, he is the worst President in the countries history. I don’t even think Nixon breaks bottom five.

      All good points but let’s not gloss over Trump’s *stupendous incompetence* on both domestic issues and foreign affairs.

      Nixon, for all of his abuse of power, was capable of building coalitions to pass legislation and build alliances with our foreign allies.

      Trump couldn’t convince the French to drink wine or the Germans to eat schnitzel!

      It is wild that DT has experience doing the job and he is worse than he was before. We are living in unique times. Being able to cite the time we lived through the undisputed worse in the countries history.
