I suppose it is just a question of time until the government collapses?

I don’t understand what Cuba has done recently other than existing as a valid target to take some of the attention away from the Epstein/Trump files.

>blocking fuel could have serious humanitarian impacts.
We’re talking trump here. Humanitarian problems aren’t on his radar since the man doesn’t care about anyone but himself.

Good news is they will also produce less garbage, and less carbon emissions. This is the environmentalist’s wet dream.

On one hand, Cuba is heavily impacted by corruption and mismanagement. That’s entirely on the Communist government.
On the other, Murica was being a dick and made life difficult for Cuba for decades with embargoes and restrictions to starve the regime, but ended up punishing its people.

it is amazing the scale of human suffering that the US administration will happily cause when its only goal is unfettered real estate development .

The trash piles are not a new thing for Havana. Blame the dictatorship’s corruption and mismanagement.
Why do Redditors (and many leftists) turn a blind eye to dictatorships when it suits their politics/narrative? You all do not actually care about Cubans. If you did, you would be calling for the dictatorship to free all political prisoners and respect the human rights of Cubans.

I don’t understand how starving out a country is America first. Picking on people that are already down is the lowest of low.

This saddens me. Cuba is an absolutely beautiful country that has been harmed by its poor relationship with the United States.

The trash has been a problem for years at this point. I’m more annoyed that it’s taken Trump interfering with Cuba for people to understand this singular issue—as well as countless more.

So they still grow sugarcane in Cuba?
