Trump has said he doesn’t want CUSMA to be extended.. why is Canada putting so much effort into this? It’s it worth it?
Want if Canada needs this more than anyone and as a result Canada falls for US blackmail and it ends up sacrificing more than anyone.
I know nothing about this person other than that their gender is likely to enrage and distract Trump, much like that Nasty Woman Freeland did. Probably a good choice.
Interesting choice – wouldn’t typically think a bureaucrat with no particular experience in trade negotiations would be ideal candidate but has a lot of other strong traits that could work well for role
This is a role that requires someone with intimate state by state knowledge of internal US trade politics and as near as possible to clairvoyance about where domestic pressure is being applied to US negotiators by politicians, industry and labour alike.
