Cool, tell it to the MAGA fucks ruining our lives every god damn day you conservative sack of shit.

Well it’s the midterm, everybody will flatter to deceive those they can. They’ll say whatever to get people to like or tolerate them and immediately after the elections, they’ll go back to being evil and brazen about it as they were

  3. If by culture war you mean bacteria culture. Which is appropriate for a rotting carcass.

  4. ElectricalEmue on

calling it a „rotting carcass“ makes the trend obvious, no amount of rallies or slogans will fix the decay, the base is fracturing quietly.

  5. CatherineSimp69 on

    He’s right.

Their cultural relevance at this point is that they’re a joke.

There is no functional difference between „Conservative“ and „MAGA“. If „conservatives“ wanted to differentiate themselves from MAGA their chance was in 2016, 2020, and 2024. They utterly failed to do that. I’m not talking about the election outcomes per se, but the campaigning, the inside dealing, the spoken and written statements, and the actions of „non-MAGA conservatives“ were completely in line with MAGA.

They failed so hard, it’s clear that they weren’t actually trying. They lie as easily as breathing. „Conservative“ means „embarrassed MAGA“ or „MAGA in hiding“.

MAGA lost the culture war some place between the 19th Amendment and *Obergefell v. Hodges*.

The whole point of the movement is to impose at gunpoint the values Americans have rejected in the public square for the last half century or longer.

They lost the basic human decency war long before they hitched their wagon to Kid Rock.

  9. As long as there still rage and „othering“ to be had to will go on and on

  10. They lost the culture war for sure. The problem is they’ve won the political war and that’s far worse.

  11. I don’t agree with this. If MAGA faces a backlash from it’s own adherents, it’s only because they will claim that it didn’t go far enough.

The fight against fascism won’t be won by snarky smarmy opinion pieces like this.

Honestly, it seems out of touch when dealing with a daily fusillade of fascist shit.

    Things will get worse.

I’d love to believe this to be the case. Maybe individuals are publicly falling out, but a lot of MAGA are still fine with the authoritarianism until it impacts them personally.

  13. faith_apnea on

MAGA is trash without any culture. There are no morals, no ethics and no benefits delivered from MAGA.

Calling Rick Wilson a “conservative leader” is quite a stretch. He has zero sway in the modern conservative movement.

  15. TrashInspector69 on

This sounds more like a dogwhistle to rile up MAGA than any sort of admission of defeat. “See guys, you lost! Bet you won’t do anything about it!”

As someone who has family who fled Iran, I can honestly say conservatism keeps people oppressed. There is similarities between what the religious fundamentalists in the conservative USA camp and the Iranian Islamic Regime want to do. It only works because rural uneducated folks refuse to critically think or question religion altogether.

  17. rick wilson is not a conservative leader wtf is this nonsense and misleading headline. I cannot STAND clickbait these media companies are absolute slop

I think a lot of people are starting to recognize that Donald Trump is a conman, but they aren’t recognizing that conservative politics is the con.

The MAGA crowd think politics is like WWE wrestling, they vote like they cheer for a bad-guy wrestler. Their participation in politics is like cheering for a crash at a nascar race. These are the epsilon semi-morons that Huxley wrote about.

  20. They hedged their bets and the future of your party on an 80 year old man. Say what you will, but no single MAGA Republican politician has the cult of personality that Trump has for the “movement” to continue. Rotting carcass is accurate.

  21. If people hadn’t called this 9 years ago we’d probably believe these guys actually changed.
The crimes weren’t hidden, you didnt just figure out hes not a good guy, so what did change?

  22. We didn’t need a culture war. We needed a war on climate change. A war on wealth inequality. Food security. Universal education and healthcare. Stable housing.

But let’s argue about trans people at a swim meet instead.

  23. If only Rick was able to have this clarity while he was actively making all our lives worse during his time with the Bush administrations.

I’m really tired of these grifters.

edit: It was both Bush admins.

  24. Make [sure] America [can never be] Great Again.

Just needed to edit it down a bit to fit on the hat.

A guy from the Lincoln Project said this. They are very anti Trump so im not holding my breath that this isnt engagement bait.

  26. Glad-Process-3268 on

    >He said Bad Bunny’s halftime show performance appears to be “the culture war hill on which MAGA wished to die.”

Conservatives control all three branches, but all they wanted to do was listen to a country singer moan about gender issues and how he can’t drink beer for some reason anymore.

  27. CrittyJJones on

So the article is about the co founder of the Lincoln Project so this isn’t exactly news.

  28. NotObviouslyARobot on

They have not lost until they are driven from power, prosecuted, punished, and prevented from regaining influence

  29. TintedApostle on

They started this „culture war“. It was a garbage political cover for Christian Nationalism and Fascism.

  30. Just a few short years ago, Republicans were anti-pedophile and anti-mask. Now they have flipped on both of those things!

And yes, Republicans, continuing to be a member of a party led by pedophile Trump, when there are many other options, is a choice. Take some personal responsibility and find a new political affiliation if you don’t believe you belong in a gang of pedophiles.

  31. AHugeHildaFan on

It’s hard to win a culture war when you don’t have a culture because your entire political stance is anti-art, anti-creativity, anti-expression and anti-free speech.

  32. I’ll believe they lost the culture war once Trump is dead and no one replaces him

  33. Aggravating_Bat3618 on

You know what really  boils in my ass

Put the person‘s name in the fucking title so I don’t have to open the stupid article. I’m tired of it and I’m not gonna do it anymore. It just gives money to somebody else who doesn’t deserve it.
