Absolute legend. Apocalypse Now, The Godfather.

Sad for his family but 95 is a great run.

    RIP

  2. > The actor’s wife, Luciana, announced the news Monday on Facebook, writing, „Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort.“

    > She added … „To the world, he was an Academy Award-winning actor, a director, a storyteller. To me, he was simply everything. His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for characters, a great meal, and holding court. For each of his many roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented. In doing so, he leaves something lasting and unforgettable to us all. Thank you for the years of support you showed Bob and for giving us this time and privacy to celebrate the memories he leaves behind.“

Very sad. A very good and under discussed movie of his is Open Range, one the few really good later westerns with an all star cast

    Oh sad. 😔

Great actor, everyone probably goes with his bigger/iconic films like The Godfather or Apocalypse Now but I always think of him as Gus in Lonesome Dove or Hub in Second Hand Lions.

What a great actor. Loved him in Tender Mercies, where he plays an alcoholic country singer trying to rebuild his life, especially. He also made a super creepy cameo in the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. RIP.

Always loved him as an actor. Saw him driving an old pickup truck near Paris, VA, one time. Seemed like a decent fella.

I knew him from when rudy guillani was on the masked singer and nicole yelled ‚is that robert duvall!‘ while a distraught ken jeong just said …no thats not robert duvall

Brilliant actor. Fun story. When I first saw To Kill A Mockingbird, I thought „wow, the actor that played Boo Radley was probably typecast and never acted again “ looked it up on IMDB… I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Hub: Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love… true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.
