The Islamic Republic regime is best understood not as a government, but as a group of hostage-taking terrorists on a country-sized scale, like ISIS was when they entered Kurdish areas.

When you think of them like that, their profound evil with zero mercy for the Iranian people makes sense.

In fact, Iran isn’t even the only country they are taking hostage, they were doing the same to Lebanon via Hezbollah until somewhat recently (and they’re trying to get it back).

This is their standard practice btw, if they hang your family members for having said something against the regime or the supreme leader or for having had homosexual relations they will charge you for the cost of the execution before they release their body to you for burial.
