  1. Because American propaganda efforts have focused on making our egos inflated so that we feel we don’t need Europe and in turn isolate us from our allies.

  2. Poland’s economic growth since the end of communism has been incredible. I don’t think there is another country in Europe that can match the kind of growth over the period Poland has. Naturally, more defensive spending flows from that. These channels are just noting that

Because global indexes and stats are very arbitrary and according to them we are going good.

Does it matter on an average person level?

Sometimes, but in most cases someone working in Żabka won’t notice our high GDP – kinda same like average salary is nowhere near what most folks earn (I know that median exists).

Yet contrasting today with early 90’s or even 00’s the country really did improve greatly.

Polish economy is so shit right now. If we were actually developing there would be much more jobs. Especially for young people

  5. Unfair_Isopod534 on

Poland increased their military budget to relatively high levels. We also have a well known and it seems successful border protection. These 2 things are hot topics in the US, ie there is an audience for those kinds of videos.

Dont have to be a global superpower (and lets be honest, no European country is a superpower) but we have high growth rates and a culturally stable society without massive faultlines unlike Western Europe due to lower levels of immigration. So for all intents and purposes, if u have a decent job, living in Poland is probably better than other European countries.

    We’re a model colony, that’s it

It’s praise for not stepping out of the line, the accidental prosperity through little to no initiative of our own is a nice bonus to show that it works

Those channels are usually strangely USA-centric, for good reason

This type of treatment isn’t exclusive to the Americans however, don’t be fooled

  8. Because the raw data confirms we have made since 1989 unprecedented progress. Only us – Poles – have problem admitting that.

I work in German-based R&D site in Poland. The level of admiration of Germans we receive as a country is just beyond any level, to the point there are some Germans who would like to move to PL.

But we as Poles, are constantly hungry, hungry for more and be better. At one side it is ridiculous because we can’t see that we live in one of the best places on Earth, on the other hand this allows us to continue strive for more and growth to not settle.

This feels like American propaganda designed to convince us we’re stronger than we really are and that we don’t need Europe – ultimately driving a wedge between us and our allies. Divide and conquer.

    >I mean, I have no problem with that

Good for you, but i personally do have a problem with that, as it creates a picture of Poland on the Internet that is blatantly exaggerated, not to say just false.

Because some parties (like Heritage Foundation in US) are trying to create a split between the EU and Poland. It’s disinformation campaign tagetting you.

    Greetings from Holland.

Because Poland is one of few European countries which GDP realisticy grew in last 20 years, almost every other major economy is in stagnation

  13. To make us feel that we do not need European countries at all and USA is the only partner we will ever need.

In reality, it is other way around. We are growing because we have good relationship (political and economic) with European countries and relationship with USA is important but is not as important as everyone thinks.

  14. Poland has been growing unstoppably for 20 years and, skipping the crash we have right now in the west, and the 2008 financial crisis.

  15. Over_Hawk_6778 on

Because they see Poland as a very Christian culturally and ethnically homogeneous country, and want to use it as an example to justify fascist policies at home.

They also tend to ignore how crucial the EU was to Poland’s recent economic growth

  16. Beacause Poland is prob one of the fewest places in Europe where people are actually seeing improvement in their life

And Poland is also one of the biggest countries in Europe, so getting a strong Poland is very good for the EU

  17. No_Possible_61 on

    I have no idea.

I have friends in places like UK, Germany, Scandinavia = all these countries still have higher salaries and better quality of life.

Our military is small. Men don’t want to go to war at all – they know war is just for the rich guys to get richer.

Polish women aren’t much traditional, rather intelligent, stubborn, very independent if you compare to other slavic countries.

The american view on Poland is stuck somewhere in the 80’s.

  18. RevolutionaryHumor57 on

We are not. We are above average, but nothing like a superpower. Our military sector is mostly based on imports except few products so we depend on a lot of wellbeings with other countries we have contracts.

A lie told 1000 times becomes the truth – if this propaganda will keep spinning then Poland will be one to blame for lack of support in fortifying eastern borders (including support for other countries for which we have no resources to do so).

This is my personal feeling that other countries do not like Poland for spending so much money to keep the military relationships with USA, ideally these countries would see Poland to have i.e. German or French military based there instead of American

  19. Affiyahraov on

Because Poland still has some sort of sense in their minds left compared to other european countries

  20. Dry_Okra_4839 on

Poland is now among the top 20 countries by GDP, has seen nearly constant GDP growth for decades, has a an educated workforce, and is arming itself to its teeth.

  21. Mostly because in comparison to other European countries, especially the traditionally prosperous and developed ones, Poland is doing quite well.

Poland is not unique in that regard – Estonia for example is doing pretty good too. But is the biggest of them.

And I know, that internally Poland feels like an absolute mess. But one, you can’t see that from the outside, two which country isn’t?

Because you keep watching it and give it attention by – for example making this post, instead of disliking or even better ignoring it and moving on.
