$1.1B is teeny-tiny on the scale of the VC/PE industry.
Venture capital is predatory to the core. It doesn’t create wealth, it extracts wealth to the detriment of society. If India wants to fund basic research, they should invest in what are known as university research labs where actual basic research takes place. Venture capital is the process of streamlining the wealth transfer from the citizens to the pockets of the oligarchs.
The first thing a VC will do with a new idea is to patent it in every way no matter how familiar and generic it is and then threaten anyone who dares to get close. That is predatory. VCs are groups of lawyers who use money to make money. State funding for this kind of corruption should make the people who suggest such things political paraiahs. Venture capitalists are parasites, plain and simple. Those who enable them need to be publicly humiliated for their shameful complicity with these rats.
You know start-ups which are being evaluated by VCs don’t even get this. This is literally distributed to politicians friends of friends.
$1.1B ain’t really much..
So $400 million…..
More money they will siphon to their cow research funding OR at max, politically connected teams.
