The lad in the back supping the pint on the phone is my spirit animal.

„Are you around?……..just a gram will do me yeah…….down the boozer here, can ya drop it down?………..20mins? Grand………nah no-one else i just popped in for a quick one or two.“

    2. I love dogs but not every dog is pub compatible. I have no issue if dogs start coming along to pubs as long as the owners actually make sure they behave.

I don’t want dogs wandering all over and causing trouble and owners just ignore it and sit there drinking. We already have that with kids.

I love kids and I love dogs. I just want someone to be responsible for them.

Ciara is absolutely beautiful! The prettiest girl in the pub by a country mile

    4. It’s good to see that venues and places that used to not be dog friendly are becoming more open to animals allowed, but also remember that a highly stimulated, incredibly loud atmosphere of a pub might be enjoyable to you but can be a very stressful environment for a dog. Dogs during more quiet pubs during the day is fine but dogs in pubs at nighttime is a complete different thing.

    5. There’s always some Karen who ruins it but my pupper loves the pub. People love his big slobbery face haha

Well I wouldn’t want to sit on a chair that just had a dogs arse buried in it for hours. So unhygienic.

I love dogs but I was in a brunch place with a dog friendly winter garden section and each table basically had their dog. A part for the occasional bark the smell was just too intense, like it stunk of wet fur and dog breath so badly. I can’t imagine having the Guinness farts and dog breath mixed together in an indoor environment 😂

    8. Where I’m from bringing dogs to all kind of establishments is completly normal.

I was surprised when my Irish girlfriend told me that you can’t bring dogs to restaurants and bars, especially since so many people own dogs in Ireland.
Here I can bring my dog nearly everywhere – except open buffets.

Of course it’s necessary that your dog is well behaved. If you’re causing trouble for other customers you’ll get asked to leave.

Loved the idea a few years ago, was a real novelty having lovely puppers to chill with while sipping a pint.

But then as time went on, the owners got careless, dogs wandered and got stepped on, or fought with other dogs, or pissed or shat on the floor; all of a sudden that one dog is everyone’s problem, and you realise pubs are for people, not pets :/

    10. It’s great. Love brining my dog with me. He loves it. Mad they are still now allowed on the luas though.
