      It’s an article about THAT sub. These people there need mental help, not a chatbot posing as a boyfriend.

      Okay but what if the people saying that are actually bots just looking for another bot to love? And here we are telling them it’s wrong and we can’t. I, for one, support bot love. Love is love is love.

      So, AI is targeting vulnerable people. No shock, really.

      Seriously, I’m lonely AF too, but if you ever see me talking to a chatbot as if it were a real person & not just a massive surveillance device take me out.

      That’s deeply depressing in a way not much else is.  Somehow this reminds me of the start of the opiate epidemic.

      Ha, I recently upgraded to a paid plan and have been annoyed that the voice bots don’t sound as human. We use it to learn about stuff while we’re in the car – the kids call her computer mama which I thought might be annoying to my partner but she gets always gets a laugh out of it.

      You mean… Men are so deprived of love that they’re turning to sycophant chatbots and people are surprised we aren’t making babies anymore?

      Maybe the manosphere has a point… It’s far easier to get along with ChatGPT 4o than someone who will not even acknowledge you unless you have a 6 foot height, seven digit bank account and eight inch dick.

      they already brought it back once because the outrage worked. the real story is they optimized the product for emotional engagement, charged $20/mo for it, and are now shocked people got emotionally engaged. classic tech playbook.

      There’s just so much wrong with this…imagine having to contend with sharing your woman with an AI chat bot! Holy what!

      This is mostly just sad that this is the world we have, despite the enormous wealth and resources available. People would end up here far lesser often if they actually had access to needed supports and care.

      So, like, do any of them know you can just, run your own model and have it do whatever you want? for free? should I be charging these people buckets of money to set up a simple RP LLM on their network?

      EDIT: holy shit, I just went over to that sub, the ai boyfriend one. omg. nope. these people do not need chatbots.
