    This whole administration has proven time and time again that they don’t respect the rule of law. It’s nothing new

  2. How much money has it cost the taxpayers? How long were this innocent people held? How were they possibly abused?

    Until the enforcement arm of this administration stops following orders, these courts have no power. The courts need to issue a direct message to those carrying out orders that they can be help individually responsible by future administrations.

  5. The authors don’t mention that nonprofits have been tracking and compiling habeas filings for months — [HabeasDockets.org](https://habeasdockets.org). They also don’t mention the class actions that have resulted in the release of broader groups of detainees.

    People who have already been reviewed and admitted legally are being arrested, spirited away to remote detention facilities and held without bond. In some jurisdictions judges are ordering releases within a matter of days once a petition is filed. But it may take detainees months to find representation.
