I profoundly disagree with the take that AI is inevitable.
Nothing at all in the history that depended on humanity’s actions was inevitable. It just feels like that way because that’s what happened.
Nah, bring on the AI and robots to do all the work for us so we can pursue our interests for our enjoyment, not our self support.

Listened to this New Yorker podcast today about what’s going on inside Anthropic. It was nice to hear well informed people taking a nuanced view of the repercussions of AI, not just techbros or luddites invested in a polarizing viewpoint.
