Had elections canada not screwed up this riding would have ended in a tie. Annul the results and force a new election seems to be the most reasonable response.

Auguste won the appeal
Auguste has been sitting as the MP since April
Sinclair-Desgagné went to the Supreme court
The SCC is saying they now have to do a by-election?

Edit: Never mind, Elections Canada fumbled hard with this riding. A by-election should have been called right away.
Edit 2: Their is a second article linked that explains further. Auguste won by a single vote in a judicial recount after results went both ways. Then it was revealed that Elections Canada also screwed up mail-in ballots by putting on the wrong postal code. These votes were returned as undeliverables and therefore not counted. At least one person has come forward stating their Bloc vote was returned to them and therefore, it should be a tie.
QSC ruled that the mail-in ballot error didn’t constitute irregularities as it was simply human error, therefore, not needing a by-election. The SCC (IMO) rightfully overturned that decision
My prediction is a Bloc win which will be explained as disillusionment with the liberals when it probably would have gone to the Bloc if their support hadn’t faltered last year.
Win or lose I personally would accept my defeat knowing there is no political manipulation bullshit going on, unlike the Corrupt United States of TrumpArica.
Frankly pretty ridiculous that this ended up going all the way to the Supreme Court. You’d think Elections Canada and/or the lower courts would’ve handled this better.
Good. This is the exact kind of case that should make its way up to the Supreme Court and a by-election is the right decision.

It is kind of crazy how different the result of vote counts end up being. I would’ve thought if you count something twice, you should end up with the same number. If not, the count should be repeated until the correct number is found.
In this case the first count was +35 for Auguste, second +44 for Sinclair-Desgagné, third +1 Auguste.

Its refreshing to see that our democracy is one thing Canadians don’t need to be worried about.
If the Tories want to reduce the Liberal lead in the House, their best bet is to stay out and back the Bloc. If the Liberals want to win, they will have to work hard, but maybe not as hard as last time.
Will be interesting to see, the LPC is well ahead in Quebec according to most recent polls … somehow.. but it’ll be a by election wich can produce wonky results.
