Hallo,

Als ich zum ersten Mal in einem luxemburgischen Krankenhaus war, dachte ich, dass in öffentlichen Gebäuden eine strenge Neutralitätsregel herrscht, wenn es um religiöse Überzeugungen und politische Orientierungen geht.

    Gedanken?

    1. Luxembourg has historically been a predominantly Catholic country and its hospitals were originally founded and administered by Catholic religious orders.

    2. Interesting! I think it must be only in some hospitals?

I have been to twice for longer stays within last 4 years, and haven’t seen any in my room. And believe me, I would notice, because I have allergy to religious symbols.

    3. Not all hospitals are public. And if you don’t like it just don’t look at it 😊

    4. You’re in a hospital founded by christian sisters.
      What do you expect?
It’s a private building not a public one,

which political neutrality dude, we had Ukrainian flag for a while on public buildings

    6. Might be the clinique Sainte-Zithe which was founded by the Sisters of Saint Elisabeth. Huge catholic background. Let them have their little crosses.

It’s certainly unusual; I haven’t seen any before in any of the hospital rooms I’ve visited.

So what Luxembourg is a Christian country . I am atheist myself but I am not bothered to see crosses in a Christian country . Would you say the same in Iraq where religion is part of daily life or even in Turkey ? This kind of thoughts being selectively upset it does not make any sense . Luxembourg society has accepted people from everywhere ( like me ) and has approved how open mind it is .

Historic reasons. Plenty hospitals in Lux were founded and run by religious orders (Some hospitals still are)
