Militarily, Russia seems to be the 2nd strongest country in Ukraine
Also that 3 day special military operation seems to be taking a bit long

Hence why ~~Putin~~ Trump desperately wants to get a deal done before the Democrats win the midterms and send harsher sanctions to the president’s desk.

the problem with shit like this is that it pretends that everything is going great for ukraine and that the war will inevitably be won by them
its a statement of just flat anger at russia. all this is is an attempt to spite russians out of anger. that’s why they’ll say this in the same breath as saying that they’re afraid of the russian threat enough to want to rearm.
the war is not going well for ukraine. the war has been a massive waste of human life on both sides and it was entirely preventable. there is no easy solution for it. the kinds of hard solutions that are required would require serious sacrifice on the part of europe and america that they are unwilling to provide, despite whatever rhetoric they use. so it will get worse and worse until one side breaks. its more likely that that side will be ukraine.

Thousands of lifes lost, just for 5 meters of front line … I hope the russian „federation“ crumbles umder the weigth of this war.

Even if Ukraine falls over tomorrow, this will still have been one of the most embarrassing war performances by a „superpower“ in the last 80 years.

1st largest Euro military vs 2nd largest Euro military in a peer-peer conflict?
Certainly getting better results than the Middle East.

I wouldn’t be ‚too happy‘ about the relatively ‚meagre‘ advancements. It was a big thing for Russia to push the UA army from the outskirts of Donetsk to quite a way away, as UA slowly cedes incredibly strategic towns and villages on that frontline. It also means that UA is light years away from its own war objectives which are to recapture the territory in red.

The front line has been about as likely to move as a Frenchman who lives next door to a brothel..

And how quickly should you advance on urban settlements against an army of the same size and support from the NATO bloc? Will you show an example? Since 2023, Israel has been stalling in front of the 450-square-kilometer Gaza Strip. In 2024, Russia occupied 4,500 square kilometers and 189 settlements. In 2025, it occupied 6,300 square kilometers and more than 300 settlements. A large Ukrainian contingent was defeated and destroyed near Kursk. Ukrainian troops were defeated and destroyed near Krynki, where British stupid-headed headquarters drew up insane plans for attacks across the river, causing the Ukrainians to lose thousands of men, who were simply shot and bombed like targets. As of early 2026, 24 more settlements have been occupied.

This is going to come down to a war of attrition at the end. Both countries armed forces are going to be decimated within 2 years and will lose all power.
