I had a crap childhood and decided I was never having children, but then I met my (ex)husband.
I had „morning sickness“ and heartburn for 7 months straight. I was saved by sucking on crystallized ginger and snacking every couple of hours, but it only barely stopped the nausea.
My pregnancy was mostly during the winter, so there was ice to slip on everywhere, and I worked in a very hot manufacturing environment. I was so miserable during pregnancy that by the time the delivery date arrived, six hours of labor seemed like a walk in the park.
That baby was my buddy before he was even born. The first time I laid eyes on him, it wasn’t „welcome to the world“, it was „Oh, there you are! I’m happy to announce you can now fully stretch your legs!“
He’s grown now, and raising him has been the best thing I’ve ever done. He’s smarter, kinder, and wiser than I’ll ever be, and has taught me how to be a better version of myself than I *ever* would have been without him. I wish the same experience for you.
