The name „Theodosia“ is an unusual instance of a pre-Christian Greek theophoric name that does not use the name of any particular deity.

The history of Crimea is crazy, considering the sheer number and diversity of peoples who have passed through it. At its peak, the Crimean Khanate, for example, was so powerful that it even burned Moscow in 1571.
