Internal investigation reports there is no evidence of internal misconduct.
Color me shocked. I never expected this investigation to turn out that way (/s just in case).
At some point, these “independent” internal reviews start to feel more like a box-checking exercise than a real attempt at accountability. Public trust doesn’t improve when the outcome always seems predictable, regardless of what actually happened.

That’s not what the report concluded at all, shame on the Montreal Gazette for reporting it this way.
The report concludes that it does not have the evidence required to come to a conclusion, which is VERY different from concluding “no knowledge”.
Basically, the judge said it didn’t have the full documents that the Journal de Montréal used to publish the news, which is completely normal because a newspaper should protect its sources.
Shame on the Gazette for this headline, honestly.

I had several ideas of why it might have been dubbed a „brownies“ plan. I was surprised to learn new (to me) slang that I immediately understood the reason for 🤣
