„The government is working together the way it was intended to“ – there I fixed it.

I dunno if it was Harper or the poll numbers but suddenly the Conservatives have got a lot more „everyone working together“. Probably both.

I think they might finally be realizing their not dealing with Trudeau and his sunny ways budgets anymore

Sending Scheer out to all the networks as the ambassador for cooperation is laughable. It’s nice to see that so many people are optimistic about this newfound cooperation though.

Scheer is really doing a lot of heavy lifting for the Cons right now. It’s a bit weird given PP was just confirmed as leader again. He has disappeared from public view at what they refer to as a crucial time.

I think it comes down to several factors. First they don’t want an election period. They’ve seen the public poll numbers along with their own internal polling. They’re losing ground with the Liberals and 20% of their own base is fine with how Carney has governed. Second their brand of politics is looking unserious thanks to Pierre, it is not resonating with the voting public. Finally Stephen Harper’s multiple addresses last week was the kick in the ass the current Conservatives needed to hear. This isn’t a time to squabble or playing political games when our country is under threat.

This is why I prefer minority governments. Actually need to work together to make things happen
