Trump is the most divisive and corrupt president in the history of America.

A rare moment of sanity from elected Republicans. Good on them for standing up for their Democratic colleagues. More, please!

As they should. There’s no need for anything he’s doing/has done, maybe in some cases yes but he’s done nothing but make things worse.

  4. What a snowflake, doesn’t want any Democrats in the room to criticize him

  5. Blue states need to withhold federal taxes. Bankrupt this piece of shit subsidizing our oppression with our own dollar.

I was hoping the governors would say no to this meeting. It’s a start!

    >Brandon Tatum, the NGA’s CEO, said in a statement last week that the White House meeting is an “important tradition” and said the organization was “disappointed in the administration’s decision to make it a partisan occasion this year.”

This is a predictably tame response that doesn’t even qualify as a rebuke.

„Disappointed“ is a word you use when describing admonishing your child for misbehaving at school.

It’s a word you use when you expect better but don’t get it.

This kind if partisan move is SOP for this administration.

    Honestly, who expected better?

You mean all the Republican governors are still going to the Whitehouse but is no longer an official event?

    Gotta read the article.

The organization that holds the meeting canceled it and the republicans are doubling down saying they’ll start their own with just republicans. I was hopeful someone grew a spine for about 1 minute.

  10. The pedophile squad needs to stick together through thick and thin. Can’t believe these people have children of their own. Scary.

So are the red state governors also refusing to turn over their voter data as well? Asserting their 10A rights to refuse cooperation with the feds? No? I thought not. Symbolic resistance, real capitulation. Not impressed.

Push back on this MF at every opportunity. Thank you GOP governors for siding with democracy.

    Another self-inflicted Trump failure.

When this guy fails, he really gets on a roll.

ICYW, the „55“ Governors referenced includes the governors of American Samoa, Guam, North Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

  15. Newsflash.

He said it repeatedly he “HATES them (Dems)”. So how is it a shock to anyone he deliberately only summons GOP members to official meetings?

Failure to follow along lockstep with Trump makes you an “enemy from within”

Fantastic. Now let’s see Congress and the press stand up in the same way!!

Noteworthy that this follows Trump excluding Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (the nation’s only black governor) and Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (the nation’s only gay male governor) from the NGA dinner.

Since he’s clearly gunning for the presidency, and whether you like him or not is one of a small handful of politicians hitting back, this is Newsom’s opportunity to hold his own meeting of governors.

  19. Remember when Obama divided the nation by wearing that tan suit…. boy, all his fault

  20. figgehedberg on

NGO should rise above it….organise their own dinner with all governors outside of the Whitehouse. If it’s that important, make an effort…

It’s no longer being held because the White House is taking over and hosting. It just got formally dropped from the Gov orgs calendar.

If you read the article, it’s not that it’s off the calendar because they’re taking a stand. It’s that they can justify removing democratic governors of the White House hosts – the main Republican gov even said it’s the president’s house and he can invite who he wants.

Praise and respect to these State Chief Executives for making the ethically correct decision not to attend the Governor’s Meeting when none of the non-GOP Governor’s were invited to attend.

  23. The National Governor’s Association could show some spine and hold the event somewhere else. Bonus points for not inviting Mango Mussolini.

  24. Oceanbreeze871 on

Wow. Ok literally shocked gop governors had any integrity left.

good on them for doing the bare minimum.

  25. I’ll give credit where it’s due. It’s the decent thing to stand up for fellow representation, regardless of political affiliation.

  26. Am I reading this correctly? That GOP governors stood up for fairness and their brethren?

  27. apoca1ypse12 on

This is a slap in the face to Trump. Things are not looking good for him when republicans are openly shunning his partisan politics. Keep it up
