      The first one is correct. We will never know truly, but all the circumstantial evidence points towards one guy and that is Hal Finney.

      You cannot tell me its a „coincidence“ that Dorian Satoshi Nakamoto lived in the SAME suburb as Hal Finney. That is a massive red herring.

      Lex or something was the guy. Obviously no one will ever know but his experience and death line up very well.

      Looking at the comments in the original source code, I would say they are british and likely from Southampton Uni. There was a lot of distributed research going on back then in soton.
