This really is a no-brainer. I don’t see how it’s a good thing that someone can lean on a retroactive refugee claim the minute they do something against the law to effectively extend their stay in Canada.

This seems like common sense to me considering we’ve seen some of the extortionists in BC using the asylum system’s long delays as a way of avoiding extradition to India.
People with criminal histories are typically inadmissible to Canada anyways.
