  1. For legal purposes what is the official residency of Pope Leo? Is it America or The Vatican? Does he still pay American taxes?

He’d risk being cuffed at customs and thrown in the concentration camps.

  3. I was confused and thought the Pope was doing a neverending world tour and plans to die while touring.

On second read: the writer meant USA. Which is not his home, so Americacentrism got the better of me.

He might tour the US in a year or 3..

  4. Expats abroad here.  We’re with Leo, earliest return is *after* mid terms, if then.

Objectively speaking, it makes sense. He could be detained in the US if they find out he doesn’t like Trump.

  6. The Sox are going to be terrible anyways, might as well wait out all the bs till later.

To be fair, 2026 is going to be an absolute shit show here. Especially near the end of it. Buckle up.

  8. Daughter working in UK and will not come back to live is US for any pay, for any, company until Trump is gone and fascism is at least more hidden. Sad as I’d really like her to come home but cannot think of any counter arguments to her position.

  9. Makes sense, his ecclesiastical home was Peru, where he will indeed travel this year. In his first speech after becoming pope he spoke in Spanish to his Peruvian congregation, but not in English.

It would have been glorious to see the pope go to Minneapolis and requesting to enter an ice detention center while also not wanting to meet with trump or vance

Makes senses. He probably will tour around the world starting with the Winter Olympics also known as the New Haven Tour 2026 for pizza and hotdog lovers, sponsored by JE airlines.
