    1. People will still cry. Even if they fall 50% more. When prices rise, they say housing crisis and immigrants are at fault. When prices fall, some say it is not enough and immigrants are still at fault while others say we are in a real estate crisis. If everything is a crisis, people are never happy anyway. Oh, maybe not seeing a brown person outside might make them happy.

      So the credible people whom the previous govt called racist and “divisive” for suggesting that uncontrolled immigration was bad for affordability are owed an apology, right?  

      This lines up perfectly with the closure of the useless degree-to-PR pathway. For Indian students alone, the number of study permits dropped by 93% between 2023 and the end of 2025.

      I’m not doubting the statistics as they know more than my anecdotal experience of not seeing rent cheaper anywhere. But considering it mentions shrinking unit sizes, it seems like it’s there are more small and shitty apartments which is better than nothing but also isn’t exactly a sustainable solution.
