Nothing better than a stand/sit in the cold, eyes to the sky, drink in hand. Too much light pollution near me, but there are some beautiful sights available in more rural areas. Sat for over 2 hours in a Tipp garden one night, watching the strip of the milkyway drift overhead. Absolute bliss.

The night is bright and full of stars.

If I’m not mistaken, that’s Sirius middle-right (brightest star in the sky), so I’d guess whatever that is in the middle-top must be a planet?

The sky was very clear tonight, managed to get the scope out and get some footage of some galaxies (top one is called the cigar galaxy, bottom one is called Bode’s Galaxy).
Im out in the countryside and im probably only a handful of people that take advantage of power cuts. If it’s clear i get the telescopic out for a few hours. Its amazing how much light pollution affects our lovely night sky, even out in the sticks.
