I do find it hilarious that Russia thinks Ukraine should hold an election in the middle of war time.

And if you add Germany to this, 4/5 would be Merkel. Just for perspective.

Whilst true this meme is silly because you could’ve put Germany there which had Merkel from 2005 to 2021 and also had Kohl who was even longer in office.
France also historically had presidents remaining in power well over a decade, and the Dutch had the same PM for like 15 years until 2024.
Voting doesn’t make a country democratic just look at Iran and having a long serving leader doesn’t make one an authoritarian state on itself.

Link me to the 2014 Ukriane fellow’s gracious concession speech after the big election. I was inspired by this shining example of democracy
Oh wait, I just hallucinated lol. he actually fled to avoid being lynched by right sector and lots of other Thomas Jeffersons with very dubious looking tattoos.
If you downvote this enough times, I will magically become wrong and Ukraine will have been a modern Athens this whole time.

From what I have seen so far countries must have long term policies, you only change surface stuff every 4 years. So democracy is when at top you have long term human eating pedophiles who promote and chose politicians who will win, you change politicians, shadow on top stays the same.
On the other hand you have systems where there is long term president and so country can implement long term policies.
And you Epstein children keep telling yourself that you are better than Russian system. It is crazy

This is so pathetic. „my whole political analysis is placing colors in a row“ is just as anti-intellectualist as dumb right wingers. We just have an illusion of democracy and all you losers are eating that bullshit and it’s incredibly frustrating.
This is why our lives are going to keep getting worse and worse. Democracy isn’t electing one stooge after another. Yeah, Putin is a dictator and Lukashenko is a puppet, but before the invasion Ukraine was constantly considered as one of the most corrupt country in Europe, so the other guys are just puppets for oligarchs.
We also elect officials, yet the trajectory doesn’t change and the policies don’t change. That’s because all politicians are the same, you just like your shit to be served in a bowl instead of a sandwich.

even western polls says that putin and lukashenko have overwhelming support and approval in their countries so how its not a democracy? should they vote a pedos or perverts into power like eu and usa do?
fun fact, each ukranian president stole more then his predecessor. every time ukranian people says “we elect or maidan another one if we dont like this guy” yet it never happens and they suffer

Obviously, Sweden is not a democracy. Sweden elected seven times in a row the same person as the PM.
The same party ruled for 53 years.
Helmut Kohl was elected 4 times in a row as was Angela Merkel.

Great leaders get reelected!
Ukraine being a democracy is highly debatable
