I always found the speed at which they achieved this to be fascinating
They almost had an empire where the sun never sets
Thailand shares a border with China ?
Oh Christ am I color blind or are you?
Myanmar during this time period fascinates me
Why hasn’t China ever tried to cut off Japanese forces that were around Wuhan in Central China?
At that time the Japanese controlled area in China was ruled by the Wang Jingwei Regime, which held half of China’s population. Old Chinese people I know said life was peaceful under wang’s regime.
Why did they not conquer those stretches of the chinese coast? Were they not as important or they didn’t manage to?
A reminder that things often fall at their biggest extent.
Genuinely impressive
China was Japan’s biggest prize and all the other countries they took was to help keep it. For example Chinese resistance was receiving supplies through Vietnam and Burma so Japan took them. Their military in china required oil and resources so Japan took southeast Asia. The US didn’t want Japan to completely control china because of the huge economic potential it would give them which is why they embargoed japan
Why did Japan occupy the European colonies and not concentrate on occupying China?
