Well, you only have yourself to blame when consumption tax increases, lower purchasing power due to weak yen and mandatory military conscription is the new norm.

Here is what I think young Japanese voters really want

    1. Get rid of Chinese tourists. Honestly, they don’t want other foreigners around either.
    2. Lower prices.
    3. Raise wages.
    4. Push for structural reforms (cleaning up zombie companies and increasing labor flexibility).
    5. Cut senior welfare and digitize by tearing down bureaucracy.
    6. A strong Japan. Amend the Peace Constitution to become a country capable of war.
    7. Resolve the over-concentration in the Tokyo metropolitan area
    8. Gender equality.
    9. Political generational change and ending the culture of hereditary politics.

  3. Yeah, they can’t get enough of anything…

cuz they don’t have the money.

  4. Thankfully Japan’s youth make up such a small minority of the population 🤣

Somebody said silver democracy is bad.

Turned out younger voters are also dumb too

  6. Young Japanese would vote for a party that features an anime character as party leader, if there was one. Their lives are so mundane that anyone beyond normal would pique their interest. Takaichi’s image is quite different from her predecessors. Plus, they are just flocking back to their roots of good old fashion fascism.

I can’t believe Japan is voting for a strong national defense in 2026 just because China has promised to invade Taiwan by 2028
