I don’t see what the problem is here, it’s best for everyone if the byelections don’t overlap, so delaying it seems to make the most sense. Scheduling it earlier would actually be quite annoying for the federal Liberals, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Ford coordinated with Carney on this.
That is a ridiculously long time. These things should be called within 30 days of the vacancy. People shouldn’t go half a year or more without representation provincially or federally.
