      This isn’t surprising in the least. He’s always been a racist with a well documented history of racism even being sued by the government for blatant discrimination and lost.

      In a public speech in 2001, George W. Bush said “You teach a child to read, and he or her will pass a literacy test”. It made national news.

      Shortly after that, I was having dinner with a close friend who was 30ish years older than me. I told her that Regan and Bush had lowered the bar so drastically for the Republican Party, that it would never come back up. After going on a rant about how he was paving the way for idiots to be accepted as presidents, she told me I was too pessimistic. I wish she had been right.
