      Many European countries criminalize a broader set of hate speech than the US does. And if there’s anything American purveyors of hate speech want, it’s to be able to speak hatefully everywhere and face no pushback.

      So Trump broke off trade talks with Canada because he was offended by an ad that was run in the US — there were even claims of interference. Since then it’s been noted that the separatists in Alberta have had several meetings with the US and are getting support from them too. Now this. The levels of hypocrisy that this administration exudes is off the charts.

      There is a limit to what’s possible in Europe with triggering foreign influence issues . Sure in Hungary they can do whatever they want for now. But in Germany, France? Even Poland that won’t go down that easy

      OK, if they can do that, then I think its fair game for Europeans to setup an anti-fascist super PAC to directly fund trumps/magas/heritage foundations competitors.

      That’s almost 500 million Europeans which are by and large historically very left wing by US standards, I mean were practically commies. Even our far-right is centre left by US standards.

      if 500 million Europeans each contributed 10 euros, that would be a 5 billion euro war-chest for the anti-maga groups in the US

      I think we should do it. I’m happy to kick in a few grand.

      Or they can take their nose out of EU politics and well call it even.
