It’s unfortunate that good movies are being released during one of the worst economies in which an obviously undeclared recession is happening. There is mass unemployment and cost of living is dire. It’s hard to justify going to a movie theater these days.
whose idea was it to release it like six months after the last one?
It was fantastic, glad I saw it in theaters. Hope they make the third but it’s not looking too good.
Nia DeCosta cannot catch a break.
That’s wild, I just saw it Sunday and the showing was packed at the grove in Los Angeles. I checked multiple times both sat and sun and all of them were at least 70 percent sold.
Too much zombie dick
My local theater only has 10:00PM or later showings. 🙁
28 Years Later (part 1 apparently?) was a polarizing mess. The hype of waiting all these years for a followup, coupled with a trailer that instilled complete dread and discomfort, did not do any favors for a film that ended up showcasing massive zombie dong, a young protagonist on a journey to save his mom, and a left turn finale with tracksuit dudes doing parkour.
I’m glad people are enjoying the second act, but the first act was fumbled so bad I don’t have any sympathy for it failing at the box office.
The worst part about this is that myself and several of my friends have been wanting to go since it released but haven’t been able to due to snow storms in my region literally shutting down theaters every weekend. I can’t imagine how much this has effected ticket sales as I have 5 movies I’ve been wanting to see in theaters for a month now and haven’t been able to see any of them and by this weekend when stuff is finally open again I’m pretty sure several of those movies will no longer be showing because folks assumed they were unprofitable.
Releasing a film mid-January when everybody is broke is the best way to make sure your movie flops
Such a shame. Just saw this movie tonight and it absolutely rips. I think it will do numbers on streaming but January was a weird release window for such a blockbuster horror film. Nia DaCosta is so incredibly talented and this might be the most reliably great franchise going. Jack O’Connell and Ralph’s Fiennes were brilliant in this one.
Well, i enjoyed this movie, i watched it in a private session, sat on the highest seat , and had just the „fingers“ with me
Me (38) and my Pops (59) saw it yesterday afternoon in theaters. We were the only ones in there for a 12:35pm showing, and we’d both do it again *in a heartbeat*…
Saw them both at the cinema.
Part 2 is amazing.
Should have all been 1 movie though.
Who exactly are these „fans“ that are telling them to give it more time
Went to see it last night, which was its last day at the cinema. Really great film. Is exactly the kind of film that would’ve had a second life on dvd back in the day.
Still at my theaters locally. Will catch it again for sure.
God that last scene…the music…chills
Its a pity I thought this was far superior to the first one which I had some issues with.
I really think that ending of the first one marred Bone Temple
