Tengrism is for the largest part just neopaganism in Turkey. There has never been something like a coherent tengrist religion. In Central Asia and Mongolia it is just part of folk religion, but officially people confess to Islam or Buddhism. You‘d really have to go to places like Yakutia that Buddhism never reached.
