This shouldn’t come as a surprise, the battle lines in the party were drawn months ago. Johns/Davies/Boulerice are on team McPherson, while Kwan,Idlout,Gazan are on team Lewis. Given that Lewis looks to be a lock to win, it should be interesting to see what the other team does. I could see many of them choosing not to run again, which puts their seats at risk.

A ham sandwich could achieve that goal. Time will pass and the NDP will rise again in the polls. A credible plan to aggressively increase the share of capital held by the working class is what is demanded by the times we live in.

>Johns told The Canadian Press he’s backing the Alberta MP because he sees McPherson as someone who can grow the party, noting she won her Edmonton riding for a third term.
After another NDP MP won it for three terms before that.
They keep bringing this out as evidence that she can grow the party, but **holding** a riding that the party previously won isn’t evidence of growing anything.

The NDP’s fortunes are tied to the PC threat and what people think of the pc leader and how much he or she listens to the radical side of that party.

Honestly what might do it is the liberals shooting up in the poll and the conservatives shooting down. That’ll make more of us feel safer voting NDP. There’s people like me that want the NDP to become the official opposition.

I’m left leaning and I want to support the NDP, but I don’t see anything inspiring amongst any of the leadership candidates, which makes me sad.
