Ok so from my time here based on post, comments, and people whom I’ve come to call friends who defended/defend Ukraine. The only option i see for your average military age male is death. Not that I want all russians to die, but that seems to be their only option at the moment. Participate in the war in an active combat role? Fate sealed. Refuse to fight in the war? To labor camps or tied to lamp post and trees for drone targets. Try and surrender/flee? Russian saboteurs or drones with your severance package.

Best chance they have is surrender and even then it’s based off timing and proximity to combat drones, surveillance drones, and opfor presense. Plus these days we can’t keep taking assault teams of guys when it’s a handful of defenders on a line.

Best/worst chance the average russian citizen has is to take up arms but even thats a sector the russian „government“ has an iron grip on.

How much more does he need to say „let’s call it a draw, you fought hard and now we both rebuild“ even if thats a huge lie. If not to save manpower and opinion then what about your ego?
