Das Interesse der USA am Separatismus in Alberta lässt Alarm schlagen, was als nächstes kommen könnte

If you told me in 2019 this was a real sub-headline in a mainstream news outlet, I would not have believed you:

What alberta has wanted for 40 years:

-make electoral reform changes so every Canadians vote holds the same weight and is equal.

-change equalization so is is calculated equally in every province.

I mean it’s not really unreasonable to ask for equality in Canada. No wonder they want out.

Just reform how equalization payments work give Western Canada and extra supreme Court seat to match the population, give one seat per 100,000 people with a minimum of 1, make Senate seat distribution more equitable and don’t make every project/development a mission impossible movie to push through and just watch how seperation sentiment plummets in Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

If Alberta seperates and the US forces the indigenous people out and takes their land, don’t worry Alberta, Canada will still have your back.

Carney needs to give Alberta what they ask for, or we’ll be pulled into a situation we won’t win.
