Data source: a spreadsheet I kept track of my score everytime I completed a puzzle.

Also, when I first started doing full puzzles regularly, I just did Monday/Tuesday, then added in Wednesday, then Thursday, then Friday and so on. That is most likely why I have a larger tail for slower times on earlier days of the week. By the time I started doing puzzles later in the week, I had already improved my general ability, so much longer solves weren’t as likely. For example, when I first started doing the puzzles I didn’t even know how to read all types of clues!

Visualizations: Python script with pandas, numpy and scipy.

Note: I got flamed pretty hard about my relationship after my last post here. I guess some people didn’t understand the generational gap when it comes to texting style. I hope that older generation can appreciation my dedication to the NYT Crossword, even if they can’t appreciate how I text.

    2. This is pretty novel, I like it. I appreciate how you account for the variable difficulty level.
